Use this tool

Why use FilePebble?

  • Runs locally in your browser
  • No account or watermark
  • Automatic download when ready

How it works

  1. Add a JPG, PNG or WebP image. Compare the downloaded copy at full size before replacing the original.
  2. Adjust the available options and start processing.
  3. The finished result downloads automatically.

Files stay on your device

Supported PDF and image operations run in your browser. FilePebble does not upload the selected file contents to its server.

Before you start

Large files depend on your device's available memory. Keep the original until you have checked the result.

Good uses for this tool

  • Prepare a camera photo for email or a web form.
  • Reduce page weight for a website or product listing.
  • Create a lightweight sharing copy while retaining the original image.

A reliable workflow

  1. Decide where the image will be used and keep the best available original.
  2. Compress a copy, then compare its pixel dimensions and file size with the source.
  3. Inspect faces, text, sharp edges, gradients, and transparent areas at 100% zoom.
  4. Use the result only when the important details remain clear.

What to check before sharing

Dimensions often matter more than an extreme quality setting. A phone photo may contain far more pixels than an email or content column needs. Resize first when appropriate, then compress once.

Honest limitations

JPG uses lossy compression; repeated saves can create blocks and halos. PNG may remain large for detailed photographs because it is lossless. Transparency can be lost when converting to JPG.

If the result is not right

If a PNG is still large, choose WebP or JPG only when transparency is unnecessary. If text or logos look soft, return to the original and use PNG, WebP, or a larger size.

Frequently asked questions

Is Compress image free?

Yes. The tool is free to use, requires no account, and adds no watermark.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Supported processing happens locally in your browser. Hosting and analytics receive normal page-request data, not the contents of files you process.

Which formats are supported?

This tool supports JPG, PNG, WebP. Browser memory and unusual or damaged files can affect very large jobs.
