FREE PRIVATE FILE TOOL

Convert image format online — free and private

Convert common images to JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, or a transparent 256 × 256 ICO file.

Use this tool

Why use FilePebble?

  • Runs locally in your browser
  • No account or watermark
  • Automatic download when ready

How it works

  1. Add an image and choose JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP or ICO. Use PNG or WebP for transparency; ICO is exported at 256 × 256.
  2. Adjust the available options and start processing.
  3. The finished result downloads automatically.

Files stay on your device

Supported PDF and image operations run in your browser. FilePebble does not upload the selected file contents to its server.

Before you start

Large files depend on your device's available memory. Keep the original until you have checked the result.

Good uses for this tool

  • Convert a modern WebP image for software that expects JPG or PNG.
  • Preserve transparency with PNG or WebP.
  • Create a 256 by 256 ICO for a desktop shortcut or compatible application.

A reliable workflow

  1. Choose the output according to transparency, compatibility, and file-size needs.
  2. Convert from the best available original rather than an already degraded copy.
  3. Open the downloaded file in the destination application.
  4. Check transparent backgrounds, sharp edges, colors, dimensions, and file size.

What to check before sharing

JPG is widely supported and efficient for photos but has no transparency. PNG suits logos, screenshots, and lossless edges. WebP often gives a smaller modern web file. BMP is uncompressed and can be large. ICO output is normalized to a transparent 256 by 256 icon.

Honest limitations

Changing format cannot restore detail lost in the source. Converting a blurry JPG to PNG does not make it sharper, and converting transparency to JPG replaces transparent pixels with a solid background.

If the result is not right

If a target service refuses the result, confirm its exact accepted formats and dimensions. Some older systems accept only specific ICO sizes or color depths.
